Moon Viewing Chair: 1999 by American furniture designer and craftsman Clifton Monteith. Made of bent willow and aspen twigs, and like most of his work, it is rustic interpretation of art nouveau, better known as “rustic noveau”.

Often rustic works can be over-scaled and or to particular which makes them difficult to use eclectically. Yet all of Clifton’s work is so elegant and its details are in my opinion minimally influenced and therefore so easy to mix into any style interior. I can already see Vogue doing a chic fashion spread with the models sitting in some of these aesthetically American chairs.
Really unusual and interesting chair. Great blog, glad I found you! xx
unfortunately i don’t know who designed that light construction.. i just shot a photo of put on my way out of a hotel 🙂
that chair is really impressive… it looks like SO much work building it and there’s so much design behind it.
